HARTING Industrial Han® connectors are now recognized under the Component Recognition Program of Underwriters Laboratories Inc, as fulfilling the requirements of Type 4 and Type 12 according to UL50 regarding enclosures for electrical equipment.
Han® hoods and housings have long met tough industrial degree of protection requirements IP65 and IP68 according to IEC 60529. These IP ratings were thought to be generally equivalent to Type 4 and Type 12 ratings. HARTING has taken the extra step to test the Han® connector system to these requirements and can now state that HARTING is the only supplier of industrial rectangular connectors that can claim both NEMA and UL Type 4 and Type 12 recognition.
This recognition ensures that HARTING Han® connectors fulfill customer and end user expectations for UL and NEMA ratings of enclosures and equipment.
